Laura Richardson-Harris opened her law office in 2007 after starting her career in Texas as an associate attorney with a small firm and a sole member family law firm in Plano. The primary focus of her practice is in the areas of family law and consumer debt relief.

Prior to relocating to Texas in 2003, Ms. Richardson-Harris was employed for five years in the investor relations department for Financial Investors, Inc., an investment firm in New York City. In 1995, she began her legal career in family law as an associate attorney with a New York City sole member firm.

Ms. Richardson-Harris earned the degree of Juris Doctor in 1994 from the American University, Washington College of Law, where she was a recipient of the Arnold and Porter Minority Student Scholarship, a staff member of the Journal of Gender and the Law and secretary for Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International.

Before graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics, Economics and Society from the State University of New York, College of Old Westbury, Ms. Richardson-Harris received an academic scholarship through the Aetna Developmental Scholar program, was honored for academic achievement and program service and served as president of the Politics, Economics and Society Club.

Ms. Richardson-Harris was licensed to practice law in New York State in 1995 and licensed to practice law in Texas in 2003.  In 2004, she was also admitted to practice before the federal district courts for the Northern District and Eastern District of Texas.

In addition to her professional career, Ms. Richardson-Harris is active in the intercessory prayer ministry and the women's group at the Dallas House of Prayer. As a regular volunteer attorney with the Dallas and McKinney offices of Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, Ms. Richardson-Harris was recognized as the 2010 Attorney of the Year Runner-Up by the Collin County Bar Association for her hours of service to the community. She also serves as a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Collin County. Ms. Richardson-Harris was also a mentor with Girls, Inc. from 2006 - 2009.

Passionate about the environment, Ms. Richardson-Harris is certified as a Master Composter by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and a volunteer with the Frisco Community Gardens. She is also the president and founder of For HIS Glory and Honor Ministries International, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation under the Internal Revenue Code, dedicated to environmental conservation and sustainable living.
